Building Melissa’s Dream Wedding
wedding design starts with a cohesive color palette
The Inspiration & Design Concept
How we did it:
We wanted the design to complement the gorgeous Ringling Courtyard, so we used its pink walls against the open Florida sky as color inspiration!
We paired the hues of pink and blue with warm accents of yellow and champagne. So soft and ethereal!
The Little Things
Wedding Day Details that Matter
How we did it:
Chose an invitation design with the same soft blues and romantic aesthetic as the wedding day
Worked with a local calligrapher to create hand-torn menus and place cards for each guest setting
Procured a customized ring box with the couple’s monogram
Had copies of all details ready to go for the photographer to capture, and added little goodies like scissors, extra ribbon, and wax seals
The Floral Concept
I Do’s at the Museum
A Ceremony as Timeless as the Art
How we did it:
Procured a free-standing iron gate as the statement piece of the ceremony set
Worked with the florist to decorate the gate as if the greenery “grew” right on it
Created a custom banner welcome sign and placed it at the museum entrance, so guests know they’re at the right spot!
Rented clear chairs to keep the museum and the ceremony as the main focus
Cued the musicians and the wedding party for a seamless entrance and exit
Ceremony Inspiration & Moodboard
Set for A Feast
A Classic Tablescape with Old World Romance
How we did it:
Designed the layout down the museum’s corridors for a grand and architectural setting
Rented specialty linens and chargers to add shine and accents of ornate gold
Worked with the florist to create romantic centerpieces focused on soft florals and candlelight
Styled hand-torn menus and place cards at each place setting
Created hand-torn table numbers to match the other paper goods
Built a custom escort card frame display, all pinned with brass and accented with gold wax seals
Rented Place Setting Details
When It Rains…
Making and Executing Plan B
How we did it:
Communicated with every vendor the week of the wedding what the Plan B protocol would be
Created the Plan B Layout to keep all guests under cover and shared with the execution team
Worked with vendors to recreate event orders for Plan B usage (ex: switched market lights to up-lights for around the corridors)
Brought clear umbrellas on event day for couple and wedding party
Brought extra staff, extra clothes, and extra positivity!
Love Note:
Flexible. Reliable. THE BEST
This review is long overdue, mainly because no words will paint a picture of how truly exceptional Taylor is. Taylor was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm so happy we chose her to plan our wedding.
Everyone needs a wedding planner, so let's talk about why you need Taylor. She is one of the sweetest, most calming people I have ever met. I'm an extremely anxious person, and with Taylor, I always felt like I was in good hands. She always validated my concerns and immediately came up with alternatives/solutions. Most importantly, she always kept it real. When it came time to make decisions based on budget, she didn't try to push me on anything that I wasn't sure about. She also gave me her honest opinion on what she thought was worth it vs. what wasn't.
Every recommendation she made, from photographer, videographer, flowers, linens, etc., was spot on with our vision. She always made sure to keep the big picture in mind while focusing on the tiniest of details. For example, I would've never thought of doing baby blue satin napkins...but we did, and they looked amazing. And when I couldn't decide on an escort board that I liked, she made one!
Even when the arch we wanted behind our sweetheart table was damaged at another wedding, she worked with our florist to find a similar one.
Now for where she *really* blew me out of the water...we got married in early November, and the forecast up until that week had been sunny skies. The Monday before our wedding, the forecast had the entire state of Florida covered in rain on our wedding day (Friday). We were devastated. Our entire wedding and reception were outdoors!
I texted Taylor in a panic, and she let me know she was coming up with a plan B in case the forecast didn't change. The day before the wedding, at the rehearsal, she let me know (in the nicest way you can tell a bride) that it was definitely going to rain on my wedding day and that we should practice the Plan B.
Plan B was perfect. She came up with it in less than 48 hours, and if you ask our guests, they didn't even know it was Plan B.
One of the many ways she went above and beyond was coordinating with our vendors on things we had paid for but weren't going to use now that it was going to rain. For example, we had paid to have twinkle lights across the cocktail hour, and with the Plan B she created, she switched the twinkle lights for uplighting we can use in the new layout.
If you want someone that will make your dream wedding come to life and is also an exceptional human being, then you should pick Taylor. If I had to go back in time and start over, I'd choose her over and over again.
